d’Auvergne Liberation Sponsored Walk

Tuesday 8th May 2018

Our annual school walk will once again be happening this year. The money raised will be going towards developing outside equipment including creating more shaded areas. We would like as many parents as possible to join us on our walk this year. If you are able to, please let your child’s class teacher know.

Everyone to be dressed in RED, WHITE & BLUE (no uniform) and suitable footwear;

If the sun shines, please make sure your child has a suitable sun hat and is wearing sun cream;

If the weather is unsettled, all children will require a suitable waterproof jacket;

No book bags needed that day;

Children in KS1 can bring normal lunch boxes as these will be returned to school in the minibus;

For children in KS2, please supply lunch in a disposable bag, as children will carry them on the walk;

Plenty of water needed;

Children must have their inhalers with them on the walk – please ensure you bring a spare or remember to take your inhaler home from school on Friday 4th May ready for Tuesday.

The Foundation Stage children will be participating in sporting activities during the morning, so the children should come into school as normal.

Years 1 and 2 children meet on the grass area by Aquasplash at 8.30am and walk to St Aubin’s, then coach to return to school.

Years 3 and 4 children meet on the grass area by Aquasplash at 8.30am and walk to the Gunsite and then walk back to school.

Years 5 & 6 children meet at the grass area by Aquasplash at 8.30am and walk to St Aubin’s and then walk back to school.

If the weather is really bad and the walk needs to be cancelled, we will make an announcement on the radio - Channel 103. We will also put messages on Twitter at: @dauvergnejersey or on our Facebook page d’Auvergne School.

Should your child be unwell on the day of the walk, please call the School Office on 625858 promptly.

A sponsorship form is attached and we ask that all monies are returned to school by Friday 11th May.

Please do not give monies in on the day of the walk.

JT’s Books for Tablets

Directory Recycling Campaign

Just a little reminder we have started collecting old telephone directories to take part in JT’s directory recycling campaign.

If you have any old telephone directories lying around we would love to make use of them and increase our chances of obtaining a tablet for our school.

Please drop any donations to the school office.

Thank you!

Sports News

Well done to our girls football team who played a great match at Springfield earlier this week.

Summer is edging closer!

We are beginning to see some beautiful sunny days, which hopefully means summer is on its way – but it also means we need to start thinking about sun screen.

Could we please remind parents to apply sun screen each morning before school and ensure your child has a sun hat or cap (clearly named) for break times, lunchtime and outside activities.
