A message from our new Head Teacher

It was lovely to meet so many children and parents at your recent Learning Evening; I was made to feel so welcome – thank you.

I’ve been back to d’Auvergne a few times since and have started remembering a few names, young and old(er). Please bear with me, as there are very many to recall!

Naturally, I’m thrilled to be joining your wonderful community. Your school has absolutely everything that a new Headteacher could possibly want: smiling enthusiastic children; adults who really care; a world-class building and grounds. I do recognize how fortunate I am to be given the honour to take over from Mrs Lakeman and am committed to carrying on her excellent work.

I am so looking forward to September but in the meantime, may I wish you all a very relaxing, sunny summer.

My very best wishes,

Mr Sam Cooper

Triple P - A Positive Parenting Program

Earlier in the term we launched a new family support strategy which is designed to assist parents improve their parenting skills and build positive relationships with their children – this unique program is called Triple P and we have received positive comments from the families who took part in our first program.

This program consists of four 2-hour discussion group sessions, and each session highlights strategies to help deal with problems which make parenting trickier than you’d like.

The topics include; Dealing with Disobedience, Managing Fighting and Aggression, Developing Good Bedtime Routines and Hassle-free shopping with kids.

Triple P is a parenting program, but it doesn’t tell you how to be a parent. It’s more like a toolbox of ideas. You choose the strategies you need and you choose the way you want to use them. It’s all about making Triple P work for you.

We will be running the program again next term, but for additional information in the meantime please visit the website;
