Our Learning

Science

d’Auvergne’s vision for children within science are for all children to be able access the Science Jersey Curriculum to support them in the real world, both now and in the future.

We understand the immense value that thinking logically and methodically plays in the whole school curriculum and also overall in the day-to-day life of our school. We believe that science can provide: enhanced collaborative learning opportunities; better engagement of pupils; easier access to rich content; and can support the needs of all our pupils. We believe that Science should provide children with the skills to be able to explore and investigate a range of topics and ideas and use creative and engaging methods to explore these.

Our Aims

  • To develop pupils’ enjoyment and interest in science and an appreciation of its contribution to all aspects of everyday life.
  • To build on pupils’ curiosity and sense of awe of the natural world.
  • To use a guided range of investigations and practical activities to give pupils greater understanding of the concepts and knowledge of science.
